Starting on Ballybunion’s beautiful Cashen River, the 750m swim will allow you to swim in near perfect conditions as it is sheltered from any sea swells by the famous Ballybunion sand dunes. Swimmers will swim (water start) from the slip straight out to buoy 1, turn back across the bay, around buoy 2 and back to the steps leading up to Transition to begin their cycle.
-
Leaving from the Cashen car park, the cycle route will take you up to Ahafona where you will then join onto the Ballybunion TT route (out to Lisselton, turn left behind Lisselton, up the hill, turn left and back down to Ahafona). Athletes will experience some spectacular scenery, before returning down to their starting point at the Cashen Transition area to embark on the run.
-
The run will have you striding alongside the two world famous Ballybunion Golf Courses before finally returning (out and back setup) to the finish line at the Cashen Car park to claim your victory.
