No - You will be emailed your Race Brief ahead of the event. You will collect your race number with integrated timing chip at registration on the day, plus event merchandise.
How do I receive my Race Time Results?
Race Timing Results will be provided by our timing partners. The link will be live on our Social Platforms (Facebook and Instagram) and within 1 minute of crossing the finish line you can search up your amazing time and see your splits (if you’re into that sort of thing!!).
What is Transition?
Transition is the term used to describe the change over between the individual segments of the Duathlon
Transition 1 (also known as T1) occurs between the first run and cycle
Transition 2 (also known as T2) occurs between the cycle and second run in a duathlon
When you enter and leave transition, pay attention to the marshalls who will direct you as to when you can or cannot mount/dismount your bike. There will be a clear mount/dismount line.
Transition setup and bag drop
You cannot access Transition without having registered first as you must have your number on your bike and helmet. Remember where you rack your bike. Walk the transition area prior to the event so you know where your bike is located.
Essential racing kit only allowed in transition. Non-essential kit to be placed in the bag drop, if left in transition it will be removed.
Are there any specific rules regarding the transition area?
Participants cannot ride their bikes into the transition area; they must walk them in and out. There is a clear mount and dismount line. After the first run, athletes cannot mount their bikes until after the mount line, and on return must dismount their bikes before crossing the dismount line.
What do I wear?
Don’t worry too much about what to wear, especially for your first duathlon.
There are triathlon specific apparel you can wear, but for your first race: Shirt/Jersey and shorts for the bike and run, whatever is in the back of the wardrobe!!!
Just remember guys (and girls too!!!) you must have your chest covered during the cycle and run. You need to bear this in mind for transition also. No nudity. Essentially, this means that you may remove layers but changing clothes between run-bike-run is ill-advised.
Food
All athletes will receive a food voucher on the day and catering will be on-site.
Parking
There are several car parks in the town (beside the church, behind the library, behind the community centre, at Supervalu, and street parking also). Warning regarding parking if the weather is good. This is a coastal tourist town. To avoid stress when parking, please arrive early.
What kind of bike can I use
Any kind of bike as long as it’s roadworthy, and you have a helmet. You will not be allowed into transition without a helmet.
Will there be any after party?
Yes. Keep an eye on our socials for more info.
